“If we surrendered
to earth’s intelligence
we could rise up rooted, like trees.”
—Rainer Maria Rilke
Join Yoga Teacher Amber Voiles and Reiki Master Heather Shoopman for a week of Stillness, Harmony, Happiness and Healing. Haramara means “Mother Sea” in the native Huichol Indian language and is located 45-minutes north of the Puerto Vallarta airport, near the quaint town of Sayulita, in the spectacular Pacific coastal region known as Riviera Nayarit, Mexico. Situated on 12 private acres of land on the magnificent rugged coast of the Pacific Ocean, and backed by the Sierra Madre Mountains, Haramara Retreat is nestled into the tropical jungle vegetation on the hillside overlooking its own private and pristine beach.
Native and untouched tropical vegetation surrounds and embraces each and every one of the structures which have been carefully designed to subtly merge the internal and external environments while meeting strict ecological standards with as little disturbance to the flora and fauna as possible.
With no electricity one can leave behind the tedious demands of our electronic age while the jungle and ocean sounds soothe your days and nights. You can always check your email or make a necessary phone call in town, but here if you choose, you can be entirely free of technology as you reconnect with yourself.
Deep thought and consideration was given to the placement and location of every structure at Haramara, so as to remain “at-one” with the spirit of the land, the jungle and the beach, with minimal environmental impact.
Enjoy delicious gourmet meals tastefully prepared with fresh local ingredients and beautifully served. Special dietary needs and requests will gladly be accommodated.
On two separate knolls, each with a different but expansive views, sit two magnificent yoga shalas. It is here we will have daily yoga and meditation classes with an emphasis on Conscious Relaxation, Ayurveda, Sound, Reiki, and Breath.

WHAT IS REIKI?
Reiki is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing. It is administered by “laying on hands” and is based on the idea that an unseen “life force energy” flows through us and is what causes us to be alive. If one’s “life force energy” is low, then we are more likely to get sick or feel stress, and if it is high, we are more capable of being happy and healthy.
The word Reiki is made of two Japanese words – Rei which means “God’s Wisdom or the Higher Power” and Ki which is “life force energy”. So Reiki is actually “spiritually guided life force energy.”
